2018 Eastern Oregon Art Show during Hermiston FunFest

Downtown Hermiston, Oregon

Saturday, July 14th 9am–3pm

PRIZES:

$1500 in Cash Awards will be awarded by the judge(s). The artist whose work is voted “Best” by attendees during the course of the show will receive a $250 People’s Choice cash prize at the end of the show on Saturday, July 14th.

CATEGORIES:

  • Teen Category: Open to all youth ages 13-17 years.
  • Adult Category: Open to amateur and professional artists, 18+

ELIGIBILITY:

Only original work designed, created and executed by the artist in the last 5 years will be accepted. Artists from throughout the region of eastern Oregon and Southeastern Washington are welcome.

NUMBER OF WORKS ACCEPTED:

1-2 works accepted per artist in any medium.

FRAMING:

Artwork must be delivered to Hermiston City Hall ready to hang or display (no saw-tooth hangers). Pieces that are 3-D should be on a self-supporting stand or in a display case that weighs less than 50 pounds. The entry form must be completed and attached to the artwork and the entry fee must be submitted to Hermiston City hall when the artwork is delivered.

WHEN & WHERE ARTWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED:

Hermiston City Hall (Planning Department), 180 NE 2nd Street, Hermiston, Oregon 97838 on Friday, July 13 9 am–4:00 pm

JUDGING:

All judging will be on site. The decisions of the judges is final.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ACCEPTED WORK:

  1. Maximum Size: 12 square feet. Maximum weight is 50 pounds
  2. Where appropriate and at the discretion of EO Arts Show Committee, all work must be suitably framed to a professional standard. No clip frames, saw-tooth hangers or taped edges.
  3. Work must be wired and ready for hanging.
  4. Sculptors must provide their own pedestals or stand.
  5. A label must be affixed to the back of the work that indicates which end is the top and includes the following: Artist Name, Title of piece, Medium, Dimensions, and Price.
  6. Work cannot be withdrawn before the end of the exhibit.
  7. Work must be suitable for a family-friendly audience. The Show Committee may decide to not display work that is deemed unsuitable for the show’s intended audience.

SALES, COMMISSIONS AND DELIVERY:

The price represented on the artist entry form will be the sale price during the show and all artists must be responsible for their own sales directly with the buyer. If a piece is not for sale, it must be marked NFS with a value for insurance purposes. Sold works will remain until the end of the exhibition.

REMOVAL:

Artwork must be removed by the artist, or artist's agent, on Saturday, July 14 between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM. Any work not removed during this specified time will be disposed of at the EO Arts Show Committee’s discretion after 14 days.

LIABILITY:

EO ARTS and DESERT ARTS COUNCIL is not responsible for any damage, breakage, replacement or cost associated with any damage or breakage that may have occurred during transport or unpacking. Every precaution will be taken in handling the entries, but EO ARTS and DESERT ARTS COUNCIL assumes no liability for any loss or damage to any artist's work while in our care, custody or control, before, during or after the exhibition. Each artist, if they wish, needs to provide their own insurance.

USE OF IMAGES:

Any image submitted may be used for marketing and promotional purposes directly related to this show. This use may include publication in any publications, printed materials, advertisements, or electronic media. Copyright and all other rights remain that of the artist.

ENTRY AGREEMENT:

With the submission of artwork into the EO ARTS FESTIVAL Show, the artist agrees to all the terms and conditions set forth in this prospectus.
